We didn’t expect a fun arcade game to become such a success - or Genome testnet to onboard 350,000 unique users.
This biweekly update is about escalation and building. Let’s dive in.
Hex Hunt Went Wild
What began as a casual game turned into madness - over 16,000 matches were played, 5,000+ hours logged, 2,000+ watermelons claimed. The final Hex Hunt championship week pushed everyone to their limit. We distributed $100K in $NOME, rewarded players with NFTs, elite passes and plushies.
We also just launched Hex Hunt: Raiding Parties - private, community tournaments with over $30K in exclusive rewards.
10 New Advisors
To match the pace, we expanded the Genome Genesis Council by adding 10 sharp minds from across CT, NFTs, gaming, and growth. Names you know: Waleswoosh, Vova Sadkov, Elisa and others who’ve helped shape narratives and call the next meta before it happens.
Their combined experience reinforces Genome’s foundation and supercharges our firepower across design, growth, and execution.
350K+ Signups and the Testnet Airdrop
To mark the milestone of 350,000 signups, we launched a Testnet token airdrop. These tokens let users engage across the protocol - playing, predicting, competing. Every action earns Edge Points, which feed into rewards across integrated games and partner ecosystems.
Partnerships and Campaigns
Genome partnered with Gamestarter to support indie studios in building connected, persistent game economies. We ran AMAs focused on long-term community retention and the role of NFTs in sustaining ecosystems. Several new Secret Missions were launched, designed to challenge and reward players who bring big names to Genome.
888 Genesis NFTs: Exclusive Access to Everything
Finally, we introduced 888 Genesis NFTs. They are designed to provide tangible, protocol-level advantages to their holders. Each NFT secures a $NOME allocation at early backer terms, alongside privileged access to exclusive mechanics, upcoming games and features. Holders are also prioritized for future premium launches, ensuring they’re always one step ahead.
Shipping Core Infrastructure
We completed the Rooms feature, launched the Vee Formation landing page and promotional banner, and resolved issues with public profiles. A new tournament upgrade was deployed, and the Solana SDK was finalized and integrated. Users can now deposit directly from Solana.
We also updated the backend structure that powers Genome’s omnichain logic to improve scalability. Across the platform, we improved SEO, refreshed Hex Hunt badges, updated the profile setup flow, and fixed a referral quest issue. The updated EVM contract was deployed and fully integrated with the tournament system.
The Playable Future
We laid the foundation, players showed up and started building beside us. From the very first match of Hex Hunt the community hasn’t just participated, but shaped the very fabric of what Genome is becoming.
